Matt Damon and Casey Affleck said Tuesday they are already in early discussions with Apple executives about a sequel to “The Investigators.”
“The Investigators” dropped on Apple TV+ on August 2 and is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining movies of the summer. A “Roadhouse” revival from Doug Liman, the film sees Damon and Affleck's classic Boston characters go on increasingly crazy chases to make a little money (by global standards), a storyline both the actors and Liman are eager to revive. According to Until the deadline.
Damon's Artists Equity business partner, fellow actor Ben Affleck (Casey's brother), and their financial backer, Red Sox co-owner Jerry Cardinale, were so impressed with The Investigators that they are on board with sequels and further projects.

“That would be amazing if that happened,” Damon told the outlet. “Look, it was just a really fun group of people. Working with Casey and Doug again after so many years, and Apple was amazing from start to finish. Casey and I were just talking about how amazing that whole run was, the way they handled the movie.” (Related: “Slingshot” will rival your favorite space movies)
While Apple hasn't released exact viewership numbers, the company seems very pleased: “They said it was No. 1 across all streaming, including TV shows, so that's great. It means people love it as much as we loved making it. So if that happens, that's great,” Damon added.
For Damon, it's all about “creating flexibility for all my friends and acquaintances in the industry.” He noted that the industry has changed dramatically in recent years, forcing all sectors to adapt. He's excited to see what that means in the long term. (Related: AppleTV+ May Have Unwittingly Created the Ultimate Traditional Wife TV Show)
