A good-hearted DoorDash driver in Florida is being hailed as a hero after saving the life of a motorcyclist who was the victim of a hit-and-run, FOX35 reported Thursday.
Billy LeBlanc was making a delivery late one night on the weekend when he noticed 34-year-old John Powell collapsed in the middle of an intersection in West Melbourne and called 911. Fox 35FOX35 reports that LeBlanc is still struggling to understand how it was possible for him to allegedly leave Powell for dead in the middle of the road.
“I told the 911 operator he was dead. I thought he was dead,” LeBlanc told FOX 35. “I never want this to happen to anyone, but I'm glad I was there and I was able to help him… I thought about starting chest compressions.” (RELATED: Video shows good Samaritan perform a vicious cross-body block on a criminal fleeing from police)

“I'm glad they caught her,” he said. “That's the biggest good they did her.”
Police said security camera footage showed 24-year-old Rebecca Tate attempting to pull Powell's bike from under his car, then calling someone to pick him up and fleeing the scene, according to FOX35.
“She left him there to die. How could she do that?” one of Powell's friends, Leah Lindstrand, told FOX 35.
Lindstrand said: GoFundMe According to the media, Powell's friends said her friend's condition was improving but that he still had a long way to go before fully recovering.
“I basically can't move either of my legs,” she said. “I have one major fracture in my left leg and one in my right leg. You can see I have some broken ribs as well.”
Powell made it out of the intensive care unit safely, something LeBlanc is thankful for, according to FOX35.
“I'm glad he's alive. I'm glad he's alive because she hit him hard and he's obviously a strong guy,” LeBlanc said.
Tate was arrested Wednesday and appeared in court Thursday, FOX35 reported.
The state set bail at $17,500, and Tate is scheduled to appear in court again on October 1 on charges related to fleeing the scene and tampering with evidence, the outlet reported.
