Columbia Protester Who Demanded ‘Humanitarian’ Aid For Anti-Israel Occupiers Now Teaches Mandatory Undergrad Class

A Columbia University doctoral student who called for “humanitarian aid” to anti-Israeli occupation forces during protests in the spring semester will be teaching a required course this semester, according to National Review.

Joanna King Slutsky called for the university to provide “assistance” to students who forcibly occupied campus buildings as part of anti-Israel protests. She will be teaching “Modern Western Civilization” this fall in Hamilton Hall, the same building the protesters occupied. According to To National Review

“I think at the end of the day it comes down to what kind of community and obligation Columbia feels to its students,” King Slutsky said in the video. Posts Regarding X: “Even if we disagree, do we want students to die of dehydration or starve or get seriously ill? If the answer is no, then we need basic — I mean, this is an Ivy League campus, so this is weird to say, but what we're asking for is basic humanitarian assistance, like, can I get a glass of water?”

Columbia University initially threatened to expel him, but Congress Report A report from August found that 18 of the 22 students arrested remain academically cleared.A report from the Republican-led House Education and Labor Committee included 138 cases out of eight incidents and found that few students were disciplined following violent anti-Israel protests last spring. King Slutsky's academic work explores “the fantasy of infinite energy in the transatlantic Romantic imagination between 1760 and 1860”, focusing in particular on Marxist interpretations of Romantic poetry.
