Singer-Actress Selena Gomez Reveals Inability To Conceive In Interview

Selena Gomez revealed that she won't be able to have children of her own during an intimate interview with the September 9 issue of Vanity Fair.

This is the first time the famous singer and actress has spoken about her inability to conceive.

“I have never said this before,” she told the magazine. “Unfortunately, I am not able to conceive my own child. I have many health issues that put my life and my baby's life at risk.”

Gomez has been open about her health issues and frequently posts about her health struggles on social media.

In 2013, Gomez was diagnosed with lupus and underwent chemotherapy to treat the autoimmune disease. Though she revealed that she had received a kidney transplant in 2017, Gomez continued to struggle with health issues. She famously shared a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed next to her best friend, Francia Raisa, who was also lying in a separate bed right next to Gomez. The famous singer told her millions of fans that Raisa had donated her vital organ to save her life.

Gomez said, Vanity Fair She admitted in an interview that she had been tormented by the idea of ​​not being able to get pregnant and have her own baby.

“It was something I'd been grieving for a while,” she told the magazine.

She said she had very different plans for her future but has since been forced to adjust her thinking.

“It's not necessarily how I envisioned it,” she said about one day becoming a parent.

“I thought it was going to happen like it happens to everyone. [But] “I'm in a much better place now and I'm grateful to have such wonderful people who are willing to work with me through surrogacy and adoption, both of which are great possibilities for me,” she said.

“I'm really grateful that there are other ways that people who are dying to be mothers can do so, and I'm one of them. I'm excited to see what that journey will be, but it's going to be a little different.”
