Another great moment in Mike Gundy history!
Coach Mike Gundy's Oklahoma State Cowboys defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks in overtime on Saturday, and while the season is still early, it's hard not to think this game will go down as one of the best in 2024.
But Gundy wasn't entirely satisfied with the win, and he blamed it on his defensive performance. 39-31 Despite the win, the D allowed 416 passing yards to the Arkansas quarterback. Taylor GreenOn top of that, the Cowboys also allowed 232 yards rushing. Oklahoma State allowed 648 yards of total offense! Then Monday came around, and during the press conference, there was a lot of conversation about whether the defense was doing well. (Spoiler alert: They weren't.) And, predictably, we were.
A member of the media tried to suggest to Gundy that the Cowboys' defense wasn't that bad after reviewing game tape, but um… well… Gundy wouldn't hear of it, and remained completely silent about how terrible his team was.
“They were running totally open. If they want to look good, they were running totally open, honestly… We're being honest. If we were going to bullshit each other, there's no reason for anybody to come to this press conference,” Gundy said.

“Well, first of all, the home run. They were running in a lot of space.”
