This is madness.
Just one week ago, the Linden Kildare High School (Texas) football program saw not one, but two, but a whopping three head coaching changes — and all of this happened in the space of just 48 hours.
Fast forward to now, and they've had their fourth head coach in just one week.
Long story short, Jason Ferguson resigned after the start of the season. 0-2As a result, assistant coach JD Russell was given the job on an interim basis, but less than 48 hours later, Russell had a change of heart and decided to resign. Then, school principal Rex Burks came to the rescue (not really), taking over as interim head coach and athletic director, his idea being to keep the team from having to forfeit their game against Hughes Springs.
Unfortunately, Linden Kildare suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Hughes Springs, 54-0, after which Burks resigned and returned to his duties as school superintendent.
Now, the school has welcomed its fourth head coach in a week, hiring baseball coach Jeremy Hogan. According to Matt Stepp of DCTF. He comes in with an interim label that will be in effect for the remainder of the season.
