Flagstaff Man Arrested In Bozeman Over Mass Shooting Threats

MISSOULA, Montana (KGVO-AM News) – Flagstaff, Arizona Police Department A man arrested in Bozeman over the weekend was reportedly wanted for making online threats to commit a mass shooting.

But details about why the man was heading north were not included in the initial information about the incident.

Police say the incident began on Friday. Reports received The suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Justin Hill of Askfork, Arizona, had reportedly made shooting threats on social media.

What threats did the Flagstaff suspect make?

Flagstaff police said Hill had threatened to carry out shootings at multiple locations, including schools, government offices and businesses in the Flagstaff area.

Police immediately obtained an arrest warrant, notified local police of the suspect's description and vehicle, and released the information in the hope that tips from police officers and members of the public would lead to the suspect being located.

Flagstaff issued a subsequent release on Sunday saying Hill was tracked to Bozeman, where he was taken into custody before noon and arrested without incident. He was arrested on charges outlined in an Arizona arrest warrant.

It wasn't initially clear why Hill came to Montana, and the case remains under investigation, nor was it clear when Hill might be extradited to Arizona to face charges.

A spokesman for the Flagstaff Police Department said Arizona law enforcement agencies, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Service were involved. Bozeman Police Department for making the successful arrest.
