Mojave County, Arizona (January 23, 2023) — The Mojave County Library will be hosting a “Mojave County Library” hosted by Arizona historian and author Kristin Reid in Community Room A/B on Saturday, January 28 at 2:00 p.m. They Beat the Heat” will be held.

Participants will learn from the multicultural influences of the various peoples who contributed to the construction of Arizona, creative adaptations of lifestyles, architecture, building materials, urban planning, and even humor to survive the region’s intense desert temperatures. When climate becomes an important and everyday issue in our lives today, what can we forget and what can we learn from the wisdom of our ancestors? Using it, it tells the story of how Arizonans adapted to life in the desert before the arrival of air conditioning.

Reed is a writer and researcher for the Pinal County Historical Society and an Anthem Community Scholar for Merrill Ranch’s Lifelong Learning Program. In her presentation, she reveals some of Arizona’s diverse and rich Western heritage. She continues that deep interest while contributing to many of the city’s heritage projects and institutions in Florence.Committed to sharing history in a vivid way, she has worked with multiple characters in Arizona. Presents hidden or forgotten aspects of history.

This free program is made possible by a grant from Arizona Humanities and sponsored by Friends of the LHC Library. Due to possible seat limitations, these tickets are currently available at the County Lake Havasu City Library.Saved seats are not permitted.Also, lost tickets cannot be reissued. Ticket holders must be seated by 1:45 PM on Saturday. At that time, all vacant seats will be handed over to those who do not have tickets.
