MANDY GUNASEKARA: We Can Take Our Country Back From The Deep State

It currently appears that former President Donald Trump will return to the White House in early 2025. His enemies are weak. Inflation remains high, and confidence in the Biden administration has plummeted on all fronts, especially in foreign affairs.

Today, people can look at Biden's devastation and contrast it with Trump's tenure. The choice is clear.

At the same time, Biden's stupidity View trial Trump's boomerang benefits the former president. No one is fooled by what this Kafkaesque circus is all about, scoring political points to distract from Biden's numerous failures. Biden believes voters are so stupid that once they see a picture of Trump in handcuffs, they'll forget all about how bad the last four years have been. This won't work.

As things stand, President Trump is hitting back at his political opponents. in a public opinion poll — all before re-entering the office. But at the same time, Biden and others are taking steps to retaliate against the former and future president and his allies. Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro are former Trump allies and former officials who have been subject to Democratic laws by the Biden administration, Congress and other allies.

Any outspoken supporter of Trump could become a target of the deep state. Unfortunately, I am one of the many Trump administration officials currently being targeted for legal harassment.

In early May, my husband, Surya, was visited by two FBI agents and a representative from the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Inspector General at our office in Oxford, Mississippi. came in. I happened to be out of town attending a conference in Oklahoma City.

The trio informed my husband that they were in town to serve me with a subpoena related to an ongoing criminal investigation. They also told Surya that they were convening a grand jury.

Surya had no problem accepting the summons on my behalf. EPA OIG's decision to wait until the figurative 11th hour was intentional. As President Trump plans to return to the White House next year, EPA partisans are taking preemptive steps to prevent me from returning to a leadership role.

This strategy is novel in that the deep state wants to attack adversaries before they take office. Similar to Biden's legal actions against Trump, the logic here is that if partisans can smear my reputation with false accusations, they can override a potential confirmation vote or before hiring me for a senior position. This means that they can force the government to reconsider.

Their further goal is to cause financial burden or possibly bankrupt me. The best lawyers to handle these types of subpoenas know that they are not cheap. That's also why they interrupted the entire process with veiled threats against my husband. “Are there any subpoenas related to my work with CBP?” my husband as they left our office, I asked, referring to his work with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which is part of the Department of Homeland Security.

“Everyone Fired: A Southern Beauty’s Guide to Restoring Federalism and Draining the Swamp” by Mandy Gunasekara

“Not yet,” said one of the agents. And with an eerie tone, they left.

This situation is frustrating, but it's not surprising. In fact, this is completely on-brand for the Biden administration and its supporters in civil service. Throughout my new book (Fired Everyone: A Southern Beauty's Guide to Restoring Federalism and Draining the Swamp), I discussed plans and processes for reaffirming control over the executive branch. Over the years, I have pointed out that reform is difficult primarily because those in power are unwilling to relinquish the influence and power they have illegally seized.

I'll be okay in the end, but I'm afraid many others won't be okay. This is why we take reform efforts for what they are. In short, a dangerous and deep-seated problem is being made worse by activists who seek to enforce the status quo at all costs, no matter how immoral or illegal.

I reject the establishment Republican idea that we cannot reassert our constitutionally legitimate authority over the federal government. But I do acknowledge that it will be difficult, and that there will be political casualties, people who may have committed no wrongdoing as political appointees but have their careers damaged by a deep state that calls their jobs into question. . To use President Trump's favorite phrase, D.C. is truly a “terrible” place. As conservatives, we would have few friends. And there will be even fewer of us as reformers. We should be frank about this, but not pessimistic. Folks, there are many things we can do. There are many low-hanging fruit that we can grab. It would go a long way toward fixing the dysfunctional federal government.

To win these battles, important lessons must be heeded, restated, and firmly entrenched in our hearts. throughout my bookincluding the importance of planning, teamwork, loyalty, focus, and perhaps most importantly, courage.
