Graham County – Confirmed COVID-19 cases continue to rise by double digits daily as Graham County reported its latest death attributed to COVID-19 on Friday.
The Graham County Department of Health and Human Services confirmed 78 new cases on Friday, bringing the number of ongoing cases to nearly 2,400, a record high. Graham County has a total of 11,423 confirmed cases over the course of the pandemic, with at least 8,859 recoveries and 165 deaths.
The silver lining is that the majority of new cases appear to be due to the highly contagious but less severe Omicron subspecies, which primarily attacks the upper respiratory system. Cochise County sits just behind Greenlee at 22,224 per 100,000 population. The state average is 26,476 per 100,000 population, while Graham County has 29,688 per 100,000 population, making him the second highest percentage after Navajo County, which has 31,942 per 100,000 population.
