ESPN Saves Their A** By Bringing In NBA Insider Shams Charania Following Adrian Wojnarowski Retirement

It’s hard to compete on Disney’s money — The Athletic found that out perfectly.

Because just as a top sports media figure signed with ESPN to become their senior NBA insider, their very own Shams Charania is no longer theirs. (Related: Netflix’s documentary series ‘Starting 5’ gets a sneak peek, and it looks totally lit)

Charania later confirmed the news. front office sports michael mccarthy A former stadium employee and the 4 Letter Network released a report Monday saying they were in “preliminary” negotiations for Adrian Wojnarowski’s post-retirement contract.

Back in September, Wojnarowski announced he would be leaving ESPN and attending his alma mater, St. Bonaventure University, to become general manager of the basketball program.

According to The Athletic’s Andrew MarchandWoj left a whopping $20 million on the table when he decided to leave ESPN.

I would like to know how much Shams was paid in this contract. You know Shams got a lot of money considering how desperate ESPN was to bring him in to replace Woj. After all, you can’t call yourself a “world leader in sports” if your competitors have better insiders than you. That’s why the four-letter network snatched him away.
