Last Sunday, a shooting in Flagstaff, Arizona claimed the life of a young man and his best friend was arrested. Flagstaff Police Department officers arrived at the tragic scene near Route 66 and Swiss Canyon Drive on October 13th around 2 p.m. 20-year-old Phillip Green was found unharmed outside the home, and the body of 21-year-old Dylan Carter was found inside with a fatal gunshot wound. Green was reportedly arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting. FOX10 Phoenix.
The circumstances leading up to the tragedy are unclear, but the two had been friends before the incident, and Carter’s father, LaFonzo Rachal-Carter, believed that his friend may have shortened his son’s life. In a statement released, Rachel Carter said she was “shocked” and “can’t believe this is happening.” FOX10 Phoenix.
For Carter’s family, the news of his death was a shock. “His mother called me and said her son had been shot and killed by a friend,” Rachal-Carter said. FOX10 Phoenix. “I think his best friend accidentally shot him in the head.” His words were heavy with disbelief and a need for answers. “To me, it’s like, how do you accidentally shoot someone in the head?”
Meanwhile, Flagstaff police are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward. 12 News.
