Community meetings Tuesday to discuss impact of Prop 401

SAFORD — A community meeting will be held next week to discuss the impact of Proposition 401 on Graham County.

NatureSweet Tomatoes and Bayacan are hosting two Yes on 401 meetings at The Venue on Safford’s Main Street. The first he will be on Tuesday, October 4th at 6pm and the second at 7pm.

Stakeholders from both companies will discuss the consequences of voting yes, including job creation, an increased tax base and economic impact on the Gila Valley. Bayakan estimates that about 450 new jobs will be created, with an estimated economic impact of $100 million.

Elections will take place on Tuesday, November 4th, and the last day for registration is Tuesday, October 11th. Early voting begins on Tuesday, October 4, and the last day to request early voting by mail is Friday, October 28. .
