Flagstaff, Arizona (AZ Family) — An eastern Arizona man has been charged with second-degree murder and sexual assault after a woman was found dead in a car during a traffic stop in Flagstaff earlier this month.
Flagstaff police announced Friday that they have arrested 38-year-old Samuel Lee.
he is from Ganadoin the Navajo Nation.
The investigation began in October when a man struck an unconscious woman, later identified as 38-year-old Sandy Singer, on Beulah Boulevard, just a few miles south of the Interstate 17 and Interstate 40 interchange. It started when Flagstaff police received a report of someone being forced into a car. 1 Around 3pm
Police found the car and stopped the driver outside a motel about three miles away. Milton Road, just south of Butler Avenue.
Officers found Singer inside the car, but he was already dead.
Police did not identify the driver, but he was questioned and released.
Investigators said they conducted an “extensive follow-up investigation” that led to Lee’s arrest and incarceration in the Coconino County Jail.
