sedona news – Attend the City of Sedona’s Solar Co-op 101 workshop to learn more about going solar and how to save money on your utility bills and solar installation costs.
Background of the co-op program
The city’s sustainability program has teamed up with nonprofit organization Solar United Neighbors (SUN) to participate in another round of Northern Arizona Solar Corp., a pro bono organization that supports the use of solar power.
Solar Co-op helps area homeowners and small business owners learn about solar power and purchase solar panels from a single installer at group rates. After a competitive bidding process mediated by SUN, a group of co-op volunteers will select the solar company to complete the installation.
Even if you join a co-op, members are not obligated to purchase solar power generation or chargers. Instead, each member has the option to purchase panels and electric vehicle chargers individually based on the installer’s group rate.
