NYC Mayor Eric Adams To Stand Trial In April On Federal Corruption Charges

Democratic New York Mayor Eric Adams will go on trial on federal corruption charges starting April 21, 2025, a U.S. judge ruled Friday.

U.S. District Judge Dale Ho set a hearing date in Manhattan federal court, over the objections of Adams’ attorney Alex Spiro. Mr. Spiro had hoped to conclude the trial over the mayor’s alleged dealings with Turkish officials by March, well before the Democratic primary. In June, According to to Reuters. Mr. Adams pleaded not guilty in September, but Mr. Spiro predicted that Mr. Adams would be acquitted without enough time to clear his name before voters went to the polls, saying it would be a “serious threat to our democracy.” warned of concerns.
