sedona news – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “La Cocina,” which will be shown at the Alice Gil Sheldon Theater from Nov. 15-21.
A series of events threatens to shut down the kitchen at La Cocina during the lunch rush at a busy Times Square restaurant.
At the heart of the kitchen, dreams and despair collide as each behind-the-scenes staff pursues the elusive American Dream. When the cash register runs out of money, the spotlight shines on Pedro (Raul Briones), a passionate dreamer who finds himself embroiled in a tumultuous romance with waitress Julia (Academy Award nominee Rooney Mara), who struggles with his commitments. .
As tensions rise and shocking revelations are revealed, the relentless pace of the kitchen threatens to crush the hopes and aspirations of those who keep it running.
This is a high-stakes drama that explores the intersection of personal ambition and systemic exploitation of undocumented immigrant workers within the pressure-cooker environment of New York’s Times Square restaurants.

“La Cocina” will be performed at the Alice Gill Sheldon Theater from November 15th to 21st. Showtimes are Friday and Monday, November 15th and 18th, at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, November 16th, 12:30pm. and Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 17, 19 and 21 at 6:30 p.m.
