‘I Lay In Bed Screaming’: Christina Applegate Describes Excruciating Pain As Condition Worsens

Christina Applegate told fans on the Nov. 5 episode of her podcast “MeSsy” that her health has been declining since being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Applegate spoke candidly to co-host Jamie Lynn Sigler, who is also battling the disease, and admitted that her symptoms are getting worse.

“I was lying in bed screaming with sharp pain, pain, constriction,” said the famous actress. He revealed that his symptoms were progressing. “Sometimes I can’t even pick up my phone, because now it’s in my hands. The “Married…With Children” alum went on to express her pain and frustration on the podcast, saying, “I can’t open a bottle right now.”

The women spoke to Lorie Kandel, owner of Lorie’s Bakehouse, who shared her own experience with the disease.

“It feels like there’s a knife in my stomach,” Kandel said.

“For example, if you’re lying in bed and you wake up, you can’t physically turn from side to side.”

“This is the worst,” Applegate said, saying she understood the level of pain.

This prompted Kandel to ask her, “Do you feel that way too?”

“My life is every day,” Applegate replied.

Kandel and Applegate pointed out that despite their physical illnesses, they still maintain the same beauty and “look healthy,” pointing out how difficult their illness is to see.

“Because that’s the beauty of invisible diseases,” Applegate said.

She went on to explain that sometimes the pain level is so severe that she is physically unable to function.

“I just lay in bed all the time. I mean, I’ve been working for almost 50 years, so I think I’m OK,” Applegate said.

The actress compared getting out of bed every morning to “the floor being lava.”
