Maricopa, Arizona (AZFamily) — A fast-moving wildfire broke out in Pinal County Thursday, burning more than 300 acres.
The fire broke out around 1 p.m. SR 347 and Miller Roadabout 9 miles south of Maricopa. The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management reported multiple units responded, including riot gear, engine attack, and air attack.
An estimated 340 acres were burned, mostly light grass and desert shrubs. Footage from the Arizona’s Family news helicopter shows at least one structure destroyed.
Firefighters remain on scene and are working to extinguish hot spots. No injuries were reported.
In southeastern Arizona, firefighters achieved 100% containment of the Bowers Fire on Thursday. A fire in Cochise County on Monday left one man dead and another injured.
