Malcom X’s Family Sues Government Alleging Conspiracy Behind Assassination

Malcolm X’s family filed a lawsuit Friday against the federal government, claiming it played a key role in his assassination.

Three of Malcolm X’s daughters were involved in filings in their names and the names of his estates. TMZ. They claimed that the Department of Justice (DOJ), CIA, FBI, and New York City Police Department (NYPD) were all involved in a vast conspiracy behind their father’s 1965 shooting death. Court documents allege that each agency knew of credible threats against. According to TMZ, she assassinated him before he was assassinated at Manhattan’s Audubon Ballroom and also carried out a long cover-up of what happened next.

According to TMZ, the family claimed that J. Edgar Hoover, who oversaw the FBI at the time, ordered federal agencies to illegally monitor Malcolm X. They said in their lawsuit that he directed them to take steps that would undermine protections afforded Malcolm X and expose the civil rights leader to attack. The family accused Hoover of being fully aware that the shooting was imminent.

According to TMZ, Malcolm X’s family claimed that witnesses were led using false facts and that federal agents suppressed evidence that they were aware of the plot to kill Malcolm X.

TMZ has reached out to the FBI for information regarding this new development. In response, the FBI said, “It is standard practice to decline comment on ongoing litigation.”

The media contacted the CIA and the New York City Police Department, but received no response.
