Flagstaff, Arizona (November 19, 2024) – The Northern Arizona women’s volleyball team concludes the Big Sky Conference regular season with two home games in Flagstaff. The Lumberjacks will play Eastern Washington on Thursday and then face Idaho on Saturday.
The Lumberjacks currently sit in eighth place in the Big Sky standings with a conference record of 5-9 and an overall record of 12-13. NAU must win at least one of these two games to secure a spot in the conference tournament. The team leads the Big Sky in digs with a set average of 16.81. millie oketter He led the way with 4.83 digs per set. Oketter also ranks ninth in service aces, averaging 0.31 aces per set. taylor jacobsen He ranks second in kills with a set average of 3.75 and ranks 10th in digs with a 3.12 set average. meanwhile, hannah stoddard 6th in conference with 3.06 kills per set; keira hall He ranks eighth with 5.14 assists per set.
Eastern Washington (8-6 Big Sky, 12-12 overall) ranks fifth in the Big Sky and recently defeated Idaho in a three-set sweep (25-4, 25-11, 25-20). Bree Gunderson had an outstanding performance, recording six aces, nine kills, and three blocks.
Kalista Lukovic leads the Eagles’ offense with 3.03 kills per set, one spot behind NAU’s Stoddard in the conference standings. Defensively, Makenna Collins averaged 3.72 digs per set, good for fifth in the conference. Gunderson is a dominant force at the net, leading the Big Sky with 1.51 blocks per set.
The Lumberjacks and Eagles last met on October 26th, with NAU losing 1-3 (25-18, 21-25, 17-25, 20-25). Eastern Washington leads the series all-time with 41 wins and 35 losses.

Before traveling to Flagstaff, Idaho State (0-14 Big Sky, 1-24 overall) will face Northern Colorado, which currently leads the standings and has at least a share of the regular season title.
Idaho State’s Zuzanna Wieczorek is averaging 2.30 kills per set on offense. Madhu Fontes ranks second in service aces with 0.40 aces per set. Ada Isik contributed defensively with 2.88 blocks per set, and Emma Patterson averaged 1.00 blocks per set.
In their last meeting on Oct. 24, the Lumberjacks defeated Idaho State in straight sets by the same score, 25-19. The teams will meet again in the NAU season finale on Saturday, November 23rd at 6:30pm MST. The game also serves as Senior Night and honors the five graduates.
