Race Delusion Still Deeply Rooted Inside Democratic Party — And That’s Great News For Conservatives

A former senior adviser to Kamala Harris made some thought-provoking remarks Tuesday night about the future of the Democratic Party, revealing that some factions of the party, especially the young left, remain obsessed with racial identity.

Earlier Tuesday, Democratic Virginia Rep. Gerry Connolly narrowly defeated New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to become the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee. This position will be crucial for Democrats to resist the incoming Trump administration. They will take back the House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. MSNBC’s Joy Reid, along with former Harris adviser Alencia Johnson, addressed the results on her show, arguing that the party should be led by “young women of color.” (Stream ‘The Daily Caller’)request for dislike(Click here for documentary)

“The party should be led by young women of color…The reason Democrats are actually having these wins is because of women of color. And we’re not just reaching out to moderate voters; I know how to communicate in a way that also reaches progressive voters,” Johnson said.

Reid pushed the same idea that minority women are magically gifted with better communication skills and should lead the party in the wake of Donald Trump’s crushing defeat.

“AOC and Jasmine Crockett are probably two of their best communicators. They have people with the skills, but they’re not pushing it. Ayanna Pressley is one of the most powerful communicators. One person. Why can’t she move on?” Reid. saidreferring to Democratic Reps. Jasmine Crockett of Texas and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.

Only on MSNBC’s broadcasts has a Democratic strategist like Johnson been so out of touch with American voters. Perhaps Reed and Johnson’s comments would have sounded appropriate had they been made years ago, during the rise of Black Lives Matter in the late 2010s and early 2020s. But as we approach 2025, Americans have long since moved on from the divisive and toxic race-centered politics of that era.

Of course, this is good news for conservatives. The more Democratic strategists intensify identity politics, perhaps because it benefits their careers, the more ordinary Americans—black, white, Hispanic, and Asian—are alienated. It will be. As long as people like Johnson and other Democratic operatives remain trapped in a paranoid media bubble, the party will continue to fail both in resisting the new Trump administration and in fighting the midterm elections.
