FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Arizona residents can expect dry, sunny weather through Thursday, with mild daytime temperatures and cold, windy nights. Northwest winds are expected to increase slightly, especially along exposed areas such as I-40, which could impact travel.

Under sunny skies, Wednesday’s high temperature is expected to reach 54 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Flagstaff. However, at night the temperature drops to around 20°F. Winds can gust up to 17 mph during the day, which can cause slight discomfort for those venturing outdoors.

Thursday will be similar, with daytime highs of 58°F and overnight lows dropping to 22°F. By evening light winds will shift to the southeast and no precipitation is expected. Drivers are advised to continue to use caution on routes such as Interstate 40 as temperature fluctuations could cause slippery spots during the morning commute.

Heading into the weekend, Friday will remain mostly sunny with a high of 59°F, while Saturday will be slightly cooler with a high of 50°F. Breezy southwest winds could reach 18 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph. The night will remain cold, with lows near 19°F by Saturday.

The continued dry pattern is likely due to the continued presence of high pressure over the western United States and the storm’s path farther north. Travelers and outdoor enthusiasts are advised to wear layers on chilly nights and mornings.
