clock:
“It’s a scandal. It’s a shame. The judges who wrote this decision should be ashamed of themselves,” Dershowitz told FOX Business host Maria Bartiromo. “It’s a pure partisan ploy. And the Supreme Court should take this up as soon as possible and make a president based on what the people want, not what partisans want or what they can get partisan judges to enact.” We should get back to the point of electing, which clearly violates the explicit terms of the Constitution itself.
Ultimately, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that Colorado did not have the right to exclude Trump from the ballot.

Trump claimed immunity from prosecution after Smith secured charges against him on election interference charges. But after a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit rejected Trump’s immunity request, Turley said the U.S. ruling likely closes off one avenue typically available to litigants. He pointed out that

“They actually put this poison pill into the order, even though you have the right to go for so-called things.” big bank A full court review will take 45 days. “The court has said that if we do not file a motion with the Supreme Court on Monday, we will remand the task back to the trial court,” Turley told “Special Report” host Bret Baier.
President Trump will ultimately appeal directly to the Supreme Court, which will likely rule that the president is immune from prosecution for official actions.
March 15, 2024: Dershowitz says Atlanta judge failed to address Fani Willis’ conflict of interest
When a Fulton County judge refused to disqualify Willis after his affair with Nathan Wade became public, Dershowitz said the judge acted in a “weak manner.”
clock:
“Everyone knows, everyone knows that [she] profits from…everyone knows… [Willis] What he actually committed perjury was that he conspired with Nathan Wade and another witness to commit perjury. Who are you going to believe, this judge or your lying eyes? ” Dershowitz told National Report co-hosts Sean Kreisman and Emma Retschenberg during a March 15 appearance on the show. “We all know there was a real conflict of interest here. He just didn’t have the courage to say it, and I predicted he wouldn’t have the courage to say it either. He has to live in Fulton County. Now, he may have said some very critical things about her, but he still should have removed the prosecutor from this case.”
An appeals court disbarred Willis in December, but the Fulton County Attorney’s Office has appealed to the Georgia Supreme Court.
April 24, 2024: Turley predicts Supreme Court could complicate Smith case
As oral arguments in Trump’s immunity suit approach, Turley spoke with Fox News host Harris Faulkner about how the high court’s action could affect the timing of the case.
clock:
“I think they will recognize that the president needs some protection, but be mindful that even if the court comes up with a more nuanced approach, they will probably have to remand this. please,” Turley said. “If he did that, it would create a big problem for Special Counsel Jack Smith’s job. At that point, it would seem nearly impossible for him to be tried before the election, and if Trump were to be re-elected.” If so, Jack Smith may never see a jury in either of these cases.”
The Supreme Court ruled on July 1 that Mr. Trump has immunity from acting in his official capacity as president, but the Supreme Court ruled that Mr. Trump had immunity from acting in his official capacity as president. As a result, Mr. Smith ultimately dismissed the suit.
May 21, 2024: Turley expresses alarm over possible jury instructions
Near the end of Trump’s trial on charges of falsifying business documents, Turley accused Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s prosecutors of circumventing important protections for defendants in the more “routine” aspects of a criminal trial. He pointed out that Japan has a potential advantage in one of these areas. A conviction is more likely.
clock:
“The government has taken a pretty comprehensive position,” Turley told Fox News host Neil Kabuto. “Some of them are arguing, ‘We don’t have to prove intent on every element of all these acts.’ It suggests that matters such as means may be met below the criminal and defense standards. [is]I think you’re legally saying, “Hey, you’re going to convict someone to a lower than criminal standard on a material element.” ”
A jury found Trump guilty on all 34 counts on May 30, after deliberating for less than 12 hours.
July 15, 2024: Dershowitz predicts Juan Marchan will try to avoid overturning Trump’s conviction
After Trump’s conviction, Dershowitz noted that Marchan would try to avoid overturning the jury’s verdict, despite the implications of the 2024 Supreme Court decision.
clock:
“The Supreme Court ruled in the final week of its term that it would require a unanimous jury verdict to increase the penalties to do what happened in this case,” Dershowitz said. He cited the court’s 6-3 vote. decision “Remember, in this case, without a unanimous jury verdict, without a unanimous jury verdict, we could turn a misdemeanor into a felony, change the statute of limitations, and potentially increase penalties. It did not require a unanimous jury verdict. They didn’t even have to know which crime they focused on. There would have been multiple choices. Some jurors focused on this, some on this. Some jurors voted 7-5, some 6-6, no one knows.”
Marchan is seeking a postponement of sentencing until 2029, after President-elect Trump leaves office.
