Indiana is trying to do the right thing.

Indiana’s current law was introduced in 2006. 2022prohibits those born male from competing against girls in kindergarten through high school. Lawmakers want to expand it to universities, and Reps. Chris Jeter, Robert Heaton, Joanna King and Michelle Davis (all Republicans) have introduced a bill to do so.

“To ensure a level playing field, it is important that girls compete with girls and boys compete with boys,” Davis wrote in an official statement sent to the United Nations. indy star. “As a mother and legislator, I authored this bill because I heard firsthand from Hoosier parents who want to ensure female athletes have a fair chance to compete and earn recognition. ”

And not just the perspective that transgender people need to be banned from women’s sports, but also the fact that the NCAA is headquartered in Indianapolis. It’s obviously in Indiana. This means that what they are enabling cannot be done in the state of headquarters.

So now we have to ask the question. Could this ultimately lead to the NCAA falling to its knees and banning transgender athletes from women’s sports?

That’s a possibility, but I won’t hold my breath.
