Queen Elizabeth never dreamed that such a celebration would take place at the foot of the Superstition Mountains in Pinal County in Gold Canyon.
Here Ye, Here Ye … Take a unique trip back in time to the 35th Annual Arizona Renaissance Festival. The festival showcases over 200 artisans at a unique open-air market fair at the base of the Superstition Mountains in Pinal County.
The largest event of its kind in the United States, the Arizona Renaissance Festival is the place to soak up the atmosphere of a 16th-century European village. Join the revelry every Saturday and Sunday from February 4th to April 2nd.
Queen Elizabeth would never have dreamed of such a celebration. Her 50-acre village at the festival will be filled with 16 stages of non-stop entertainment, music, comedy, falconry, dance, mermaids and acrobatics. Silly delights and artisanal treasures mingle as you shop, dine, and interact with nearly 2,000 characters in colorful costumes.
Explore the Village Marketplace, home to over 200 storybook shops, studios and galleries filled with unique arts and crafts, handmade tableware, kitchens and pubs, games and human-powered vehicles.
Visitors can browse the elaborately decorated 16th-century shops of the most unique open-air market, featuring handmade products such as jewellery, pottery, footwear, and upholstery. A shopper’s paradise with over 200 talented artisans. Don’t miss Guinness World Record Holder Adam Crack – 30 Whip Cracks.
Demonstrating artisans also make an appearance in the festival’s artisan market. Experience time-honored crafts such as glassblowing, blacksmithing, forging, wood carving, leatherworking, candle making, coin stamping, jewelry making, boot making and pottery. Watch the craftsmen create masterpieces right before your eyes. And take home a unique piece with you.
Children love interactive games and moving vehicles. Da Vinci’s Flying His Machines, Slider Jousts, Piccolo Ponies (horses bigger than elephants), Dragon Climbing Towers, Castle Siege, Maze, Archery Range and more.
A live jousting tournament is one of the festival’s most popular attractions. Mounted on a charging horse, the Armored Knight picks up his spear and fights for the Queen’s honor. Cheer on your favorite armored knight in one of his three jousting tournaments held daily in the 5,000-seat arena.
Food is plentiful and available throughout the village. The menu is diverse, with steaks, veggie and meat pies, pasta, and bread bowls stuffed with hearty stews. Don’t forget the popular smoked turkey leg! Desserts are decadent. Be sure to try crepes and a variety of other sweets. The new dessert for 2023 is the chimney roll, prepared the same way it was 400 years ago. Bake the dough over an open flame until the outer dough is completely golden brown. The pub serves beer, wine and soft he drinks to quench your thirst.
Tickets purchased at the festival are $34 for adults ages 13 and up and $22 for children ages 5-12. Children under the age of 4 are free. Senior discounted tickets (60+) and Military (ID required) are $32 and can only be purchased at the Festival Box He office. Save $1 in advance on Bashas’ and Food City tickets. Parking is provided free of charge by Bashas’ and Food City.
