Nancy J. Hasselbach was born Rudolph and Amelia Hasselbach on June 30, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio and died December 31, 2022 at Best of Europe in Cottonwood, Arizona.
Nancy graduated from Ohio University and later earned a master’s degree in education. Before she moved to Arizona, she was a teacher in Ohio. She first taught at Coolidge and was employed for many years as a guidance counselor at Kingman High School.
During her counseling career, Nancy, an avid sports enthusiast, spent much of her after-school time refereeing, keeping team statistics, or cheering students on from the sidelines. and many students were rewarded for her efforts.
After retirement, Nancy moved to the Chino Valley and built a new home on previously purchased land. After she settled in, she quickly joined the new community.
Nancy’s love of animals was legendary. She has spent a lot of time volunteering for many animal rescue programs in her Valley of Chino. Prescott VA and the County Library also benefited from her drive. She also maintained an interest in sports of all kinds, participating in games and activities in and around Prescott.
Nancy’s parents are widowed and her cousin Linda lives in Ohio. No service at her Nancy’s request. Her ashes are to be scattered “in a place with open views and roaming antelopes.” For those who want to send a memorial memory, we recommend donating to your favorite animal sanctuary.
