Lord death ruled a homicide by Maricopa M.E.

The Maricopa County Coroner ruled 16-year-old Preston Lord’s death a homicide.

Lord was severely beaten during a house party in Queen Creek on October 28, and died from his injuries two days later.

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, the Maricopa County Coroner completed a report on Lord and “identified the manner of death as a homicide,” according to a statement from Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Blythe.

“The coroner’s report is an important component of the investigative process,” Bryce said. “The findings are consistent with our investigation and support the charges filed with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (MCAO). The MCAO is currently investigating charges filed by the QCPD in connection with the Preston Road murder. We have obtained the report as we continue to consider the issue.
