Virginia Haras McCasky, who became the owner of the Chicago Bears, died after his father, George Harass. She was 102 years old. McCaskey was known to move away from the spotlight despite being the Bears’ owner for over 40 years.

“We are sad, but we are comforted to know that Virginia Haras McCasky has a long, full of faith and has the love of her life on earth. “We’ll do that,” the McCutsky family said. “She has guided the Bears for 40 years and is based on every business decision about what’s best for Bears players, coaches, staff and fans.”
McCaskey ran an organization similar to his father who helped co-found the NFL by keeping the franchise within his family. His eldest son, Michael McCassky, was given operational control and appointed president. He held the role of chairman until 2011 when he succeeded his brother, George McCasseki.

During Bears’ ownership, the team won the 1986 Super Bowl edition, losing one more season after 21 seasons.
