“I have been a serious concern today about a recent incident in which an individual with a long criminal history released on bail was fired by law enforcement and injured seven San Antonio Police Station (SAPD) officers. “I will,” Roy wrote to Gonzalez. Thursday’s letter was obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“This case appears to be another example of the LAX criminal justice policy, including bail reform, threatening the safety of Bexar County residents and our law enforcement officials,” Roy continued.

SAPD officials responded to an ongoing suicide at the Sonterra Heights Complex on January 22nd. When officers arrived, Polos remained barricaded inside the apartment for more than six hours. The 46-year-old fired a fire on a responding officer, shot one with his leg and injured six others.

Paulos was eventually killed by the SWAT team at the San Antonio Police Station. Law enforcement believes he intentionally called 911 to ambush the police officer he responds.

“This case raises serious questions about why someone with a history of violence was released on bail,” Roy wrote to Gonzalez.

Poulos was arrested on January 18th for attacking an elderly person and driving drunk, and was released the following day with a $35,000 bond. According to Local report. His release was just three days before the apartment was scattered. Furthermore, he is said to have broken the “no contact” order given to him shortly after the elderly assault incident.

Gonzalez, a Democrat, took office as Bexar County District Attorney in January 2019 and was re-elected in 2022. Gonzalez is heavily supported by the country’s most famous bankrollers of left-wing prosecutors. According to Data compiled by the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF).

Gonzalez has received more than $2 million in Soros-related contributions through fair and fair prosecution, the Texas Organisational Project, the Texas Judiciary and Public Safety PAC, according to LELDF. With the donation, Gonzalez makes him one of many leftist district attorneys across the United States who enjoy financial support from Soros. It was publicly recognized Criminals want softer prosecutors.

Roy allows Gonzalez to challenge the steps his office is taking to ensure violent criminals don’t commit crimes because of a tolerant bond policy, and prosecutors can challenge low bonds. It calls for current policies to be implemented.

Republican lawmakers are also asking Gonzalez to explain why his office refused to lock up other violent criminals like him.
