A 363-acre fire flares up in the Prescott National Forest, with nearby residents evacuating residents of the Pine Flat.
Brady Fire, west of Mayer, Arizona, was 0% containment Wednesday morning, officials said. Facebook Posts. The fire was initially reported to be 400 acres, but after more accurate mapping, it was held on 363 acres of land, according to the U.S. Forest Service, Prescott National Forest.
Little growth was reported overnight as cool temperatures eased fire behavior, officials said.
Smoke was visible in the surrounding communities, including Prescott, Chino Valley, Prescott Valley and Crown King.
Officials responded to a fire near the Yabapai County Sheriff’s Office’s Pine Flat on Monday around 3pm, around 3pm and 5:30pm. Ordered evacuation Pine flat. The Sheriff’s Office also closed County Road 177 to Pine Flat.
A crew of five people, 15 engines and a bulldozer were deployed to fight the fire. Officials from the Prescott National Forest and Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Control, as well as Prescott’s Hotshot were on the scene.

In a Facebook post, authorities said the brush and shaparral that the fire engulfed.
Forest Service spokesman Ansgar Mitchell said it was “relatively extraordinary” to launch the fire early in the year.
“(Dryness) is one factor,” Mitchell said.
However, other factors such as the wind burned the fire. Mitchell also said the fire is in the mountains of the countryside.
Officials said the cause of the fire was under investigation, but it was not due to the prescribed burns.
The approaching storm was expected to deliver gusts of southwesterly winds in the coming days. Officials say the storm will increase the possibility of moisture with a snow shower on Wednesday.

Sheltering for barn animals was available at pets at 10445 County Fair Trail and Grassford Hill Middle School in Prescott Valley, Arizona, according to Yabapai County Emergency Management.
