America Is Seriously Unimpressed By Congressional Democrats, Poll Finds

According to a new poll, Democrat approval in Congress has surged to an all-time low by Republican approval in Congress.

Only 21% of voters approve of how Congressional Democrats are handling their work. According to In a Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday. Of those surveyed, 68% disapproved of how Congressional Democrats were dealing with their positions, while 11% said they didn’t give their opinions.

Meanwhile, the survey found that a record number of Americans have approved how Republicans in Congress handle their jobs. Of those surveyed, 40% approved the handling of Congress’ Republican jobs, while 52% disapproved, and 8% did not give an opinion.

Still, 40% of Democrats approved the way Congressional Democrats handled their jobs, with 49% disapproving and 11% saying they didn’t say anything.

“It’s a calm slap of historic proportions for the Democrats in Congress,” Knipiac University voting analyst Tim Malloy wrote in a press release Wednesday. “Their Republican counterparts will take the victory lap as Democrats try to get their footing.” (Related: How Trump backs “one big beautiful bill” and passes the agenda in the fight between Senate Republicans and House GOP)

President Donald Trump recently notched a higher approval rating than he had in his first term in CBS News in the first weeks of his first term Opinion survey Released on February 9th, it found that 53% of Americans approve of the work Trump is doing during his current presidency. In particular, a poll released at the end of January showed that the Democrats’ overall approval rating was approaching an all-time low.

Democrats have faced a variety of hurdles since Trump’s overwhelming victory in the 2024 presidential election, and are struggling to develop plans to fight the agenda, primarily for the new administration. Members continue to expand their base. Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin admitted in a memo on Tuesday that his party lost its share of working-class voters, and is now often considered an “elite party.”

The Quinnipiac University poll was conducted from February 13th to 17th, looking at 1,039 registered voters. The margin for errors in the survey is 3% points.
