Yabapai County, Arizona (Az Family) – The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office says one person died after a shooting involving deputies near Prescott.
Authorities say the shooting happened just after 2pm on Sunday. Senator of Highway south of Prescott After receiving reports of shots fired in the area by lawmakers.
After they arrived, the sheriff’s office said “their lives were threatened,” and at least one vice-chairman was fired and ultimately killed the suspect. The deputy was not injured.
Deputies have not made the suspect’s name public, only identifying him as a man in his 30s. No other details have been released about what led to the fatal shooting.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is currently investigating what led to the shooting.
This is a shooting involving the 11th Officer in Arizona this year.
