This may be the last winter before Zzeek’s pizza starts offering a 50% Snowbird discount to seasonal Maricopa seniors.

Maricopa Planning & Zoning Commission Last night, we unanimously approved two requests. Future pizza parlor Honeycutt and Whisker Roads mark the road to the city’s first restaurant east of Porter Road.

The request was asked to rezone the 2.93 acres and approve development review permission from the eight-person rising Phoenix Construction Company.

Zzeek occupies more than half of the space in the 7,600 square feet of the building. This includes a patio for outdoor dining. No tenants for the nearby suite have been announced, but the project’s story suggested that it could be used for “medical and/or office tenants.”

News about Maricopa’s 11th Pizza Joint arrived in April when Zzeek submitted its pre-application documents. In December, the restaurant submitted a preliminary plan showing the building layout and color elevation.

Zzeek’s Pizza opened its first restaurant in Ahwatukee in 2013 and has received many Best Pizza accolades East Balete Rebune and Ahwatukee Foothills News. The Pizzeria is known for its wings, a hand-washed Brooklyn-style crust, and keto-friendly, gluten-free pizza options.
