Yabapai Speak host La Rapacchi speaks with Arizona’s public leader Tom Horn. Horn said there is a 29% absence rate for first- to eighth graders at Arizona School. Students are absent for 18 days of the grade. This has to be over. Parents need to understand that there are consequences of not sending their children to school, such as the epidemic.
Tom wants to go back to basics and stop distracting. Administrators are far too difficult because the children are absent. Students (and parents) need to be accountable.
Lyle asked in the classroom about cell phone issues. A bill was passed in the Arizona Legislature to address this issue, but Gov. Hobbs refused.
Tom said the bill was presented to Congress to give all teachers a $10,000 salary increase. However, the teachers’ union opposed it and voted for it.
