Borderland Tom Homan denounced Democratic leaders on Fox News on Wednesday for supporting the sanctuary urban policy, which claims to put public safety at risk.
Boston’s Democratic mayor Michelle Wu, Chicago’s Brandon Johnson, Denver’s Mike Johnston, and New York City’s Eric Adams appeared before a House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to discuss non-cooperative policies with the US Immigration and Customs (ICE). When he appeared in “Ingraham’s Angle,” Homan responded to a statement made by the mayor, including Wu, that the sanctuary policy would make cities safer.
“I didn’t see that hearing, but now I want to sleep like a baby so thank you for playing it. If I live in her heart every day, it’s a bit cool if I can turn her heart home for free, that’s kind of cool. I love my job. Homan told Laura Ingraham. “We’re making America safe again. President Trump has promised the American people that we’ll close illegal foreign crimes in this country. That’s exactly what we’re doing. Mayor Wu should be standing side by side with me.”
Homan also responded to Johnson’s statement that welcoming immigrants would lower crime rates.
clock:
“We’ve driven two killers out of the streets of Chicago. Is that city safer? We took child predators out of the streets of Chicago. Will it make that city safer? I think we were seven or nine TDA members (Tren de Aragua) members from the streets of Chicago. Will it make that city safer? Look, he’s ignorant and these mayors won’t get it. President Trump made a promise. We’re going to prioritize the threats of public safety and national security,” Homan said. (Related: Tom Homan fights back against Mayor Dem, who said he had “false characteristics” of immigrants in his community.)
Homan said under his administration, Ice has arrested about 30,000 people.
“We have made about 30,000 arrests. Most of them are public safety threats. There are some collateral, and why? People like him and the mayor of Boston and Denver don’t let the bad guys arrest in the safety and security of the county jail where officers are safe. Aliens are safe, and the community is safe,” Homan said. “They release him in the community, so we could go to the community and find him. And when we find that bad guy, if he’s with other illegal aliens who aren’t criminal threats, they’re illegally in the country, so they’ll go too.”
The conversation drew deep into criticism from Democrats, including comments from Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters, who accused President Donald Trump of exploiting the victims’ families for political gain.
“Please take a break. The Americans are dying. I met hundreds of angel moms and dads who buried their children. Another lawmaker spoke to the architect of the family separation. Yes, we separated the family, but we charged our parents, and the children cannot go to prison with them,” Homan added. “It happens hundreds or hundreds of times every day to our citizens’ parents. But they don’t talk about half a million children who have been trafficked in this country. They can’t find 300,000 people during sex trafficking or forced labor.”
ICE has detained several sex offenders previously released by Massachusetts authorities despite requests to retain them for deportation. For example, in June 2024, ICE agents arrested a 24-year-old Guatemala illegal immigrant from Bristol County. In April 2024, they obtained custody of repeated public tortillators from the Cape Verde Islands.
In an interview with Denverlight on November 21, Johnston said Denver residents and local law enforcement could oppose the Trump administration’s deportation efforts. During his appearance on Fox News on November 25th, Homan, and later the candidate for Trump’s Border Emperor, Quote 8 USC 1324(iii) and Johnston accused of being prepared to commit a felony to resist these efforts.
