Governor Greg Abbott seized by Governor Greg Abbott so that razor wires and barriers could be set up to block the intersection coming from Rio Grande. Standing in the middle of the park on the podium, the place quickly symbolized how the administration was dealing with the border crisis.

And of course, it’s a physical structure, the boundary wall itself,” the vice president responded to daily caller questions about how much of the border needs to be surrounded by walls before President Donald Trump takes office.

About six weeks after administration, Vance was at the border and he didn’t go alone. Vance spent a day trip with Director of Defense Secretary Pete Hegses and National Intelligence Director Tarsi Gabbard. They conducted an aerial tour of the American side of the border at Black Hawk, visited border facilities and met with lawmakers, border patrol agents and other leaders.
At Eagle Pass, Texas, a former hub for illegal immigration across borders, he touted the administration’s progress by alleviating the immigration crisis.
“I say the most encouraging message I will take from my visit at the Texas border is the number of Border Patrol agents who approached me and said ‘Thank you’,” Vance told reporters.
“Or those who say, ‘Because of this, we’ve reduced the border intersection from 1,500 a day to 30 a day,’ or “we’ve seen an 85% decrease in people dying at the border in the US southern region,” mean that there’s less migrant crime every day that keeps this border safe.
About five months ago, Vance’s predecessor stopped at the southern border while running towards the White House. Former Vice President Kamala Harris campaign plan Stop visiting parts of the border in Douglas, Arizona. So she made a statement and sought a solution to the border crisis. It was her first trip to parts of the tropical border in three years after Biden gave her the job to address “the root cause of migration from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.”
At the time, a New York Times analysis found that under the Biden administration, the level of net migration to the country was the largest in the country’s history. The 2024 US fiscal year was the second worst in history for illegal immigrants.
Since taking office, Trump has signed a surge in executive orders, like a national state of emergency. Other executive orders included designation of drug cartels as a foreign terrorist organization, suspension of hospitalizations for refugees, and the end of the birthright citizenship of the parents of illegal immigrants of individuals born in US soils. The Trump administration has touted someone who is trying to show that its actions in the almost first month had a dramatic impact on the border crisis. Christie Noem, Secretary of Homeland Security Confirmed It’s government It is marked The lowest daily arrests in over 15 years, and the 200 immigrant encounters at the US-Mexico border on February 22nd. announcement That there was 8,326 immigrants at the border during his first weeks of office.
Based on this, Vance repeatedly referenced lines from Trump’s council speech the night before.
“As you saw, the president said yesterday, I think that might be the most important part of his speech, that we didn’t need new laws to secure our borders. Vance told a group of Texas and Border Patrol leaders on Wednesday.
“I’ve heard from a lot of people I spoke to in the Border Patrol that all we had to do is give these guys all we had to do is give them their jobs,” he continued.

Travel wasn’t just about celebrating. After taking part in an aerial tour of the border, the trio of administrative authorities visited the Eagle Pass Border Patrol Station and participated in a roundtable with various leaders to discuss Abbott, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, mayor of Eagle Pass, Border Patrol Chief and Border Patrol Brandon JUDD on ways to lead them to cross-border control.
At the end of the meeting, Vance acknowledged that the administration was doing more work.
“First of all, Rome was not built in a day and has seen a significant drop in deportation and arrests and arrests. But we need to remember that President Biden has hampered the entire country’s immigration enforcement regime, the vice president told reporters.

He also hinted that Trump has more announcements about how the administration will secure a southern border, a topic that may be overlooked as the media focuses on Elon Musk and the government’s efficiency. “I’m not ahead of public announcements, but one way we want to enforce borders is to make it easier for people here to return home with their own consent,” Vance explained.
“We don’t have to go around and arrest everyone, but if you’re here illegally, the message from our administration is you should go home,” Vance added. “If you want to come to the US, apply through the right channels. That’s the important thing we do.”
