REPORT: Police Arrest Man For Allegedly Trapping Co-Worker In Piping-Hot Room

Madisonville, Kentucky, faces serious charges after police say they locked up fellow employees in an industrial steam room and stroking steam to activate a machine that filled the space, 44News reported Friday.

Police said they arrested Barrett Colinta on suspicion of uncertainty and illegal imprisonment following allegations of the incident at the Landoff Lost Food Processing Facility. When the victims raised concerns, Corinta left the room and activated the steam machine, allegedly trapped as steam and chemicals filled the space.

“If at this point you were kidding, even though it wasn’t a really good joke, then I don’t want to guess exactly why he did it,” said Jason McKnight, a spokesman for the Madisonville Police Department. “But at this point we charged him accordingly.”

Police reports say the victims couldn’t escape because the door didn’t open from inside and the second exit was blocked by the Pallet. Land-O-Frost has terminated Korinta’s employment after the incident, the outlet reported. He was released from prison after posting $1,000 in bonds Friday morning and is scheduled to appear in court on March 14th.
