“The reason is that it doesn’t fit the story of the media trying to sell people in our country. It’s not just true, and it’s not that true that Democrats are the only home for black people,” Donald told Gowdy. “The truth is, black people are actually more conservative than Democrats. So when you see Mia’s love, Tim Scott, and seeing themselves and many other people coming, they have to slander us, they have to make us demons.”
In response to President Joe Biden’s speech to Congress in 2021, Scott faced racist attacks from liberals, including the “Uncle Tim” hashtag campaign on Twitter. Love, the two-term Republican lawmaker in Utah, who was the first black woman to represent Utah in the law, was snabbed alongside other Republicans by Ebony Magazine on the profile of a black woman running for Congress in 2018.
“This is something we had to develop in the course of our lives. I was caught up in politics when I was 30,” Donald told Gowdy. “That’s when I realized that I was a conservative and had to not only persuade myself, but also the people in my community to support me. So the media has to slander us and destroy us, but it’s not going to work. I’m not going to stop.”
