The Veterans Affairs Bureau (VA) has ended its policy of handing out “gender-affirming prosthetics,” cross-sex hormones and other things called “care” at taxpayer costs.
The agency said Monday press release The change follows President Donald Trump’s first day executive order, which allows only “two genders, men and women” in U.S. government policies. Federal regulations already prohibit the VA from paying for “gender changes,” but interpreted the rules that provide various transgender “care” under multiple presidents.
VA is phased out treatment for gender dysphoria. All savings from this change will be directed towards helping veterans and amputees. I’m not rude to anyone, but if veterans want to change sex, they can do so on their own dime. https://t.co/gvzuhx2jdi

“While VA has never offered sex change surgeries, the agency has been providing treatment for gender discomfort for over a decade,” the press release said. The Trump administration said the VA “does not maintain a consistent and reliable record” of the number of veterans who “bear these procedures,” but less than 1% of veteran clients have been “identified.” (Related: Trump’s housing seconds to scrap Obama era rules allow men at women’s shelter)
In a press release, the VA said it had previously distributed wigs, fake breasts, “breast binders,” “packers,” “packers,” “packers,” and “different sets,” such as “so-called gender-affirming prostheses,” and “chest binders,” designed to preserve surgically created fake female genes for men. “Puckers” refers to the genitals of fake males in a circle of LGBTQ activists.
Other “care” in the VA include “intersex hormone therapy,” “voice and communication training,” which sounds like the opposite sex and a letter of recommendation for transgender surgery.
A VA spokesperson told the Daily Call News Foundation that it began paying for cross-sex hormones dating back to 2011, and artificial genitals in 2018.
The VA said Monday that taxpayer money saved from Trump’s policy changes will be directed at giving injured veterans prosthetic legs and other traditional functions.
“I’m not rude to anyone, but the VA should not focus on helping veterans try to change sex,” VA secretary Doug Collins said in a press release. “The majority of veterans and Americans agree. That’s why this is the right decision.”
