Republican strategist Scott Jennings told the CNN panel Monday night that New York Democrat Adriano Espillat was “merging” US citizens and illegal immigrants during debate over the Trump administration’s deportation efforts.

Espaillat claimed that the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) could accidentally banish American citizens after Jennings and “CNN Newsnight” host Abby Phillip collided on a flight that removed members of the infamous Venezuelan Gang, Tren de Aragua (TDA) members from the United States. TDA is a violent gang member whose members are involved in the acquisition of an apartment in Aurora, Colorado, and are tricked and murdered.
“You’re confusing different groups of people. U.S. citizens are not like non-citizens, and people who are here under certain positions are very different from people who have come here illegally, especially if you were illegally here and where you came from, were violent,” replied Jennings. “And frankly, I think the Trump administration has a political and perhaps even legal mission to withdraw from violent, illegal foreigners.”
