On her show on Thursday, SiriusXM’s Megin Kelly called Republican Texas Rep. Brandon Gill, who called her a “stone assassin” after he imposed her political bias on NPR CEO Katherine Maher.
Maher testified about NPR’s government funding before the House Observation Subcommittee on Wednesday as lawmakers work with the government’s efficiency department to reduce wasteful spending. On “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly said she believes Maher will lose taxpayer funds. She highlighted Gill as her new “favorite” lawmaker.
“I think NPR is likely to lose taxpayer funds based on what they saw yesterday. I think it’s based on what Trump tweeted and what he saw yesterday. “She was very self-righteous.”
“She oozes light empt and superiority, and adds, “Thank you. Thank you for thanking me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to respond to it. Let’s lie for two minutes now about how that didn’t happen,” Kelly added. “‘I [Maher] Thank you for giving me the opportunity to lie about something I never caused controversy. Thank you for bringing it [it] above. ‘”
In her testimony to lawmakers, Maher was repeatedly pressed by Republicans on her political bias and allegations of outlet left-wing reporting. At one point, she told Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan that she hadn’t seen “any case of political bias” that influenced editorial decisions, repeatedly telling NPR is a “non-partisan organization.” (Related: NPR president argued that her outlet was unbiased.
“Then these lawmakers hit her with, ‘Oh, you’ve never done that. Ah, well, you say you did it.” There are many good things, but we’re with my new favorite MP. “He is a stone-like assassin in that seat of Congress.”

Kelly continued to play clips from the hearing where Gill was questioning Maher.
Republican lawmakers can be seen pushing NPR CEO online in her past statements, asking whether she believes Americans are “famous with white supremacy” or “feeling white people inherently superior to other races.” Maher attempts to deny or avoid Gill’s question, but the lawmaker repeatedly refers to quotes from his post and makes his point.
“His lack of emotion made it so much better. He just said, ‘You did. You said that,” Kelly said.
Kelly continues to ask whether Maher is lying about the books she reads or whether she lied about the statements she made online about her political views, suggesting that it may have been a “signal of virtue” to her followers.
“Was it you? [Maher] Do you lie when you say you’ve woken up, make an annoying book so many times and again annoying, and try to pander to the left wing that you think is your fan? Was that a lie? Or are you lying under oath today when you say you’ve never read these books? ” asked Kelly.
“If you didn’t read these books, you didn’t just take the time to lie to all these people, but you actually tweeted. [Think about] Kelly added.
