Judge Orders Nicolas Cage’s Son Into Mental Health Program After Alleged Assault Against His Mother

The judge was sentenced to two years in the mental health repurposement program on April 2, almost a year after Nicholas Cage’s son, Weston Coppola Cage, accused of assaulting his mother.

Christina Fulton was seriously injured as a result of the alleged attack. She issued a statement in court detailing how her life was affected by the incident.

“On April 28th, 2024, there was nothing to prepare me for the night when my son took my life,” Fulton said. According to Rolling stone.

“He pushed his thumb into the socket of my eye. The pain was unbearable. My vision was dark,” she told the court. “I was unconscious.”

Fulton recounted how she was having dinner when she received the call saying that her son was “burning his apartment.” She said he greeted her in a manic state when he arrived at the Weston building. Fulton told the court that he was “enthussed” and “snapped” when the car rose to his feet and rattled the gate. She claimed he used her hair to grab her, pressing her against the floor of the elevator, moving her over her, and his weight “crushing and suffocating.”

Weston’s mother told the court that her son attacked his best friend after the elevator door opened. She claims he went back to her and pushed her into the wall, then stood on her neck and strangled her to death. A friend tried to separate Weston from her, according to a court statement.

“If not [the friend] According to Rolling Stone, Fulton risked his life to save me and save me, my family would have buried me and Weston would have gone to prison,” Fulton said.

Fulton repeatedly showed love to his son, but she said she was still worried as he had not expressed “remorse or accountability” after the incident.

“I’ve been deviled for being a good mother,” Fulton said.

“Now I am standing here and pleading for one thing. He pleads for him to get the help he deserves. Help my son,” she continued.

Los Angeles County Judge Enrique Monzia addressed the court.

“Mr. Cage suffers from a qualified mental health disorder and is pleased with being an important factor in the mandate of the accused crime,” he said at the hearing.

“It’s clear he was suffering from a breakdown at the time.”

Weston’s lawyer Michael Goldstein requested the program and said his client is undergoing treatment and is improving.

“He hasn’t felt this good in years,” Goldstein said by Rolling Stone.

“He’s in a good headspace where he’s about to marry. He’s definitely made progress from where he lived before.” (Related: Nicholas Cage’s ex-wife reportedly sued star on suspicion of family abuse.)

Judge Monguia said Weston’s case could be dismissed if it “stayed out of trouble” in April 2027 and complied with conditions set during the hearing.
