Yabapai County Attorney Dennis McGrand announced on March 26, 2025, a Yabapai County ju judge had convicted Kurt Aaron Collin, 49, of Chino Valley, Arizona, on seven counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Yabapai County Attorney McGran said, “There is no place in Yabapai County for people who are sexually attracted to children. My office vigorously prosecutes anyone who is harmed or seeks sexual imagery of young children. County Attorney Dennis McGran also thanked the ju judge for being careful attention to the facts and praised Yabapai County Attorney George Rodriguez for his skillful presentation of the case at trial. McGrand also thanked the Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) and the Chino Valley Police Department for his hardworking work to catch a child predator.

The law enforcement investigation began in February 2024 when an agent of HSI discovered that known child pornography had been downloaded in Chino Valley. Officials have discovered a large amount of child pornography, including images of children under the age of six and children who appear to be sexually assaulted.

The verdict is set at 10am on May 5, 2025 for Honorary Judge Christa Carman of Yabapai County Superior Court. Colin faces a minimum of 70 years at Arizona State Jail.
