Animal Tracks, Scat and Signs

sedona news – Join Wilderness Survival Expert and Forest Service Volunteer Al Cornell on Monday, February 20th from 11am to 1pm for this fascinating presentation on animal tracks, droppings and signs. do. Highlighted are the footprints of various animals that visitors and residents encounter while walking and hiking in Red Rock Country. It includes displays of plaster models of the footprints of many Southwestern mammals and birds, as well as several feces displays. The focus is on how to distinguish different species such as wild canids, felines, black bears and deer by examining the tracks and droppings they leave.

“Monday at the Museum” is a workshop/demonstration held every Monday from September to May. The museum is always looking for participants willing to share their knowledge of ‘old-timey’ crafts and techniques. For more information, please call the Volunteer Coordinator at 282-7038.

The Sedona Heritage Museum is located in the Jordan Historical Park at 735 Jordan Road. Public parking is ½ block north of the museum entrance. The museum is open daily from 11am to 3pm. Entrance fee is separate.
