Indiana Governor Mike Brown signed nine health-related executive orders on April 15 to address food ingredients and source transparency, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid and fitness.
“Today’s nine executive orders reflect a new approach to Indiana’s health policy, focusing on empowering everyone to live a healthier and longer life. Let’s make Indiana healthy again!” Brown I said press release From his office.
The executive order bans candies and soft drinks snap It will promote transparency around Indiana’s food ingredients, increase consumer access directly from farmers, and launch research into the connection between diet and chronic disease by the Indiana Department of Health. He also mandated the Governor’s Fitness Test at school and School Fitness Month.

Other executive orders require healthy food stamp recipients to prevent fraud and orders, to ensure successful and revive income and assets verification To confirm federal snap laws, we will be looking at Family and Social Welfare Agency (FSSA) and Indiana State Budget Agency.. The final executive order aims to reduce Medicaid eligibility errors.
“This is not the usual top-down, all-around public health agenda. It focuses on the root causes, allowing Hoosier to make decisions that impact health, facilitate access to fresh local food from incredible farms in Indiana, and address issues of government programs that reduce community health,” Brown said.
With Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Director of Health and Human Services. Mehmet Ozthe head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid was also present as Brown signed the executive order. (Related: “The evidence is overwhelming”: RFK Jr. calls on CDC to stop fluoride recommendations)
According to a press release, Kennedy said, “I would like to thank all U.S. governors to follow your lead by improving snap nutrition standards, improving transparency on food dyes and additives, implementing physical fitness tests in schools, expanding inter-farm programs, and adopting the full scope of transformative health challenges, and signing similar executive orders.

Oz also expressed his support for the executive order.
“We are delighted to work with our state and local partners, which is important to bring America’s health back to health,” Oz said. “Prioritizing prevention, proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices will help younger generations become successful for life.”
In March, Kennedy was also present when West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrissey announced that he had signed a bill banning certain synthetic food dyes and preservatives in food sold in the state.
