K9 sniffs out 24 pounds of fentanyl in Arizona traffic stop

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred on April 12 at I-40 near Milepost 211.

Coconino County, Arizona – A recent traffic halt in Coconino County has resulted in the seizure of 24 pounds of material believed to be fentanyl.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred on April 12 at I-40 near Milepost 211. A K-9 unit was used to smell the vehicle’s medicine.

Jesus Alvaro Hernandez Saras, 36, has been arrested, the CCSO said.

Saras faces charges of transporting drugs for sale.

The case is under investigation.
