REPORT: ‘The Sixth Sense’ Star Haley Joel Osment Arrested At Ski Resort

Police reportedly arrested actor Haley Joel Osment for public addiction and possession of a controlled substance at a ski resort in Lake Mammoth, California.

TMZ reported that police responded to a call about an individual allegedly drunk at Mammoth Mountain Resort just before 2pm on April 8th. Members of the ski patrol waited at Osment until police arrived at the scene. Police decide that after they allegedly found an actor who owns a controlled substance, they will proceed with the charges and send the content to the lab for testing, and in order to determine exactly what it is. According to TMZ.

The actor best known for his roles in “The Sixth Sense” and “Forrest Gump” was booked and processed after his arrest. He was released shortly thereafter. According to TMZ, Mono County District Attorney will decide whether to prosecute the case.

A source close to the situation told TMZ that the popular actor has been experiencing several challenges since losing everything to Altadena Wildfire. An insider said he had problems with his insurance and recently found an alternative home, but his insurance company denied the claim, according to TMZ.

Osment was involved in another alcohol-related crime 2006. He ran into a brick pillar drunk with shoulder and rib injuries, the outlet reported.

The actor did not compete for one count DUI and one count marijuana possession, and received three years of probation, 60 hours of alcohol rehabilitation, a six-month AA meeting and a $1,500 fine. (Related: Police release footage of New Jersey Mayor’s DUI arrest after locals ask her to resign)

No information regarding future court dates has been made public.
