REPORT: College Professor Accused Of Stalking, Prowling After Family Allegedly Caught Him On Camera

A research professor at Penn State University reportedly wandered around the night with a stalker after his family shared surveillance camera footage with police.

Pennsylvania’s 50-year-old Anoop Narayanan was denied bail on June 16 for accusations of “wandering around at night,” causing repeated stalking and fear. Court documents Shared on Sunday northcentralpa.com. He is scheduled to attend a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

Patton Township Police Station (PTPD) officers responded to a resident’s complaint on June 15th about someone allegedly peering through the windows of a resident’s apartment. Officers found both the suspect and the caller in the building’s parking lot, PTPD officer Elijah Waltzel said.

Residents accused Narayanan of repeatedly coming to the residence and showed police surveillance video, according to the outlet, he viewed it as “just because of concern for his family.” According to footage seen by police, Narayanan was allegedly leaning towards the victim’s window and sat there to avoid triggering the activating light of the video’s movements.

Narayanan appeared at about 10:10pm on June 8th, and at about 9:30pm on April 25th, the caller had previously filed the complaint. Police informed Narayanan of his Miranda rights, but he abandoned them and reportedly told the police that he did not live in the building but loved to walk there. Police then gave him a video and arrested him.

When the officer handcuffed Narayanan, he allegedly apologized to the caller. Authorities said he also confessed to seeing – including male 4- or 5-year-old children, including male 4- or 5-year-old children.
