The California city leader is under attack for uploading social media videos that call out social media videos to assume federal immigration agents to ruthless street gangs.
Cynthia Gonzalez, vice-mayor of Gadahi, a city in southeastern Los Angeles County, uploaded the video to social media, complained that she had done nothing to stop immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) about gang members on 18th Avenue and Florencia 13. “I want to know where all of the Choros in Los Angeles, 18th Avenue and Florencia are. Where is the leadership?” Gonzalez said in the video. “Choro” is a slang term and usually refers to young Hispanic men involved in gang activities.
“Now, your hood is invaded by the biggest gang out there, so there’s no peep from you,” the Deputy Mayor continued. “Don’t try to charge a block. If you haven’t seen it now, there’s nothing.”

Gonzalez won the election to his current term at Cudahy City Council in November 2022. According to Los Angeles County Election Results. Her term is expected to expire in December 2026.
“Cudahy is aware of the recent comments made by Deputy Mayor Cynthia Gonzalez on social media,” a city spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The comments by the Deputy Mayor reflect her personal views and do not represent the views or official positions of the city of Kadahi.”
“The city will not offer further comment,” the statement concluded, but this does not include accusations of her comments. Gonzalez did not respond to a DCNF request for comments.
Frontia 13th Avenue and 18th Avenue are Los Angeles-based street gangs made up of tens of thousands of members, primarily a Central American and Mexican heritage. Both gangs have I’m tied up On the slate of murder, drug trafficking, terror and other heinous crimes – especially Los Angeles Region.

“This type of garbage has increased by over 500% in assault on ICE law enforcement officials,” the DHS statement continued. “Committee Noem was clear. If you assault a federal officer, you will be charged with the fullest extent of the law.”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation did not respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.
